Sheriff's Office investigating homicide

At 10 p.m. June 18, a 911 caller reported a man had been shot at a home in the 16200 block of Kountry Ridge Drive. Ricky Allen, 50, died at the scene. Deputies took the suspect into custody at the home.

Allen's wife, Melissa I. Hoffner-Allen, has now been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in his death. She is being held in the Clay County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
