The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has released its 2022 annual report, which shows significant reductions in fatal crashes and a significant increase in the prosecution of non-compliant sex offenders compared to 2021.
The Traffic Safety Unit increased DWI arrests by 133%, and in turn, fatal crashes in Clay County dropped by 39%. The Sex Offender Registration and Enforcement Unit increased investigations of non-compliant sex offenders by 43%, and prosecutions of those offenders went up by 218%.
